The moratorium that was put in place in December 2008 has finally been lifted. The building moratorium in Natomas originally went into effect in 2008 after the federal government found that the area did not meet enhanced flood protection requirements. In regards to residential real estate in Natomas, 1,500 homes could be built over the next two years with no restrictions on commercial development. The city has already begun issuing construction permits earlier this year. At least three developers, representing 15 different approved specific plans, submitted review applications to start building residential homes in Natomas. According to the KB Home website, they will build three different floor plans in the Montauk community in Natomas. Plan 2 is a 2 story home featuring 2137 square feet, 3-4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and a 2 car garage. Plan 3 is a 2 story home featuring 2487 square feet, 3-4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and a 2 car garage. Plan 4 is a 2 story home with 2620 square feet, 4-6 bedrooms, 2.5-4 bathrooms and a 2 car garage.
